Highland experience in Scotland

  • Wild venues Scotland (map)

The Highland Experience – Scotland | 2–8 November 2025

Wild landscapes. Deep connection. A week away from the noise.

This is not your average trip to Scotland. No tourist trails, no crowded sights – just raw nature, authentic encounters and a shared sense of discovery. Hosted by local friends with deep roots in the region, this journey is built around connection: with the land, with the people, and with yourself.

We’ll stay in a former royal hunting lodge, once used by Queen Victoria, nestled within an 80,000-hectare private estate in the heart of the Scottish Highlands – a landscape once described by the BBC as the most beautiful in Scotland.

From this base, each day offers something different:

  • Quiet mornings in nature, observing wildlife alongside experienced stalkers

  • The chance to accompany traditional Highland deer stalkers and ghillies with ponies

  • Optional fly fishing on remote lochs

  • A guided visit to a local whisky distillery

  • Space to reflect, wander, and reconnect – far from everyday distractions

There is no fixed programme – only suggested possibilities. Participation is always optional. What matters is being present, open, and respectful of the environment and each other.

Accommodation & Atmosphere

You'll be welcomed into a characterful woodland lodge, surrounded by forest and mountains. Expect a warm, informal setting with evenings filled with conversation, laughter, and excellent food. Each day includes breakfast, a packed lunch for outdoor activities, and a freshly prepared dinner – paired with thoughtful wine selections.

We travel together by car from Belgium, crossing the Channel on Saturday 1 November, with a stopover in the Borders. On Sunday, we make our way north to the estate, with a few beautiful stops en route. The experience ends on the morning of Saturday 8 November.

What to bring

Binoculars, camera, waterproof clothing, a quiet backpack, and sturdy walking shoes are all recommended. Camouflage or neutral tones are ideal for observing wildlife up close.
